SARNIA, Ontario — The end of the first semester is just around the corner, which means teams across the country are looking to build some momentum before they take over a month off from game action.
Whether they are looking to maintain their position atop their respective standings, or they’re looking to make a move up before the break, every game from here on out has a heightened level of importance for each and every team in Canada. Each team has their sights set on a league title and competing for a national championship, and a loss could derail their chances at either.
This past week saw several of the top contenders in the CCAA pick up some impressive wins. In terms of individual stat lines, fans from coast to coast were treated to some strong showings on both ends of the floor. A handful of players averaged double-doubles for the week for their respective teams, while the Player of the Year races in each league started to heat up.
With that said, five student-athletes from each conference stood out among their competitors over the week. Those players make up this week’s edition of the Starting Five.
