SARNIA, Ontario — There are a ton of talented players from coast-to-coast who simply don’t get the attention they deserve.
Breakout performances often go unnoticed with the exception of regional coverage. Triple-doubles go without mention, as do 60-point scoring efforts or games that see players pull down more than 20 rebounds in a night. As Canadians, most people are fond of double-doubles, but most only focus on the ones they can drink from a cup.
We’ve decided to change that.
For the second consecutive year, The Starting Five is back. The goal is a simple one: highlight standout performances from the past seven days, bringing attention to deserving players and programs from across the nation.
From household names to up-and-coming talents, we will highlight five players from each conference on a weekly basis, calling attention to their stat lines from their contests, win or lose. Keep these players on your radar as the season unfolds, and the race for a National Championship heats up.
Here are the Starting Five selections from across the U Sports landscape for the week of November 4-10, 2019.
